What Easter Means To Me

Easter is my very favorite holiday -- more important to me and more special than any other day of the year. It's the one day that the world pauses to remember the most historical event that ever took place on the earth, the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. I love Him. I am so grateful for what He did for each of us. He died a humiliating and disrespectful death at the hands of ignorant people. But the suffering He endured in the Garden of Gethsemene the Friday before He was crucified was a much more significant event. He paid the price for every sin that would ever be committed and He suffered so that we would not have to. That was the greatest gift that would ever be given to us on this earth. On the third day He was resurrected which gives each of us hope for eternal life with our Father in Heaven. Although Christmas is also a very special holiday, without the resurrection, His birth would have been no different than that of any other baby. He is the greatest man that ever lived on earth and I know He lives today. I will always be thankful for what I know in my heart to be true.
